BITTERSWEET SEASON FINALE
5/27/2018 - Over the weekend, Minnesota took their last strokes as a team on Lake Lanier and said goodbye to some incredible athletes. Both novice and varsity squads performed to their maximum potential this weekend, with three boats making it into petite finals and two boats into grand finals. As competition tightens at the American Collegiate Rowing Association championship, we are amazed to see how far we have come as a team and proud to represent the University of Minnesota. We say goodbye to our senior class (Isaac Eiter, Connor Lund, Alexander Martin, Doug McCune-Zierath, and Sawyer Olson) and wish the best for the future of our team.
“Perhaps the seeds of redemption lay not just in perseverance, hard work, and rugged individualism. Perhaps they lay in something more fundamental—the simple notion of everyone pitching in and pulling together.”
― Daniel James Brown, The Boys in the Boat: Nine Americans and Their Epic Quest for Gold at the 1936 Berlin Olympics
