CREW CHRISTENS SHELLS AND ALUMNI ROW

MINNESOTA, MN:

This past Friday, the crew christened two racing eight-man shells into Minnesota's fleet and took both out for their first official row on the Mississippi. The additions were named after Dr. Art Erdman, a former rowing coach that was an essential part of building the beautiful Minnesota boathouse, and Tom Altenhofen, a former coach that helped make Minnesota Men's Rowing into the dominant force as it stands today.

Following the traditional pouring of champagne, Dr. Erdman and Minnesota alumni from Altenhofen's coaching days, took to the river alongside varsity members of the squad on a calm summer evening. We thank friends and family for joining us on such a important event, and our special guests for leaving a lasting impact on the team that will be remembered for years to come.
