The Wisconsin Badgers and the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) Raiders hosted a fierce regatta this weekend, just off shore of Devil’s Lake -one of the most scenic parks in the state. The competitors battled across two thousand meters for a chance to beat the Badgers on the home turf (or water) including Boston University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, MSOE, and the University of Minnesota. The rivalry was intense, but the weekend was ultimately a success across the board.
Despite the windy conditions, the sun was shining and the Gophers were ready to take on a solid day of racing.
Novices learned how to wet launch for the first time this weekend. Coxswains were given the royal treatment of course.
The Varsity Four "A" Race proved to be an intense battle. Pictured below are MSOE's "A" four and Minnesota's "A" four (left), and Wisconsin's "A" four and Minnesota's "B" four.
The team grouped up for a team picture capturing the beauty of Devil's Lake.
Results of the races are below.
